eList Theme is a great new WordPress Theme from Elegant Themes. Continuing in their tradition of creating WordPress Themes that go far beyond the glorified blogs that are many WordPress Themes of today, eList is a premium theme that is versatile and innovative.
Directory WordPress Theme
At it’s core, eList is a directory WP theme. What does this mean? Simply put it allows both you and your visitors to submit listings (ex: Craigslist) while also featuring ecommerce integration allowing you to charge visitors for featured or prominent listings.
Unlimited Color Schemes
eList comes with a custom CSS control panel that allows you to easily change the theme’s background and font color, as well as switch between several background textures.
Classic Directory Structure
eList has been build with a classic directory structure that feature your categories prominently on the homepage.
Custom Form Builder
eList comes with a custom form builder that allows you to completely customize what fields are used during listing submission. This means that your directory could be of anything, making the theme extremely versatile.
Automated Thumbnail Resizing
This theme utilizes timthumb to automatically resize your thumbnail images. Because of this, only one thumbnail images is required per post, despite the various thumbnail sizes used in the theme.
Optional Blog-Style Structure
Even though eList was created to be a CMS with a Page-Based structure, you can also run the theme like a normal blog instead.
eList comes with eCommerce integration, allowing you to charge your visitors for submitting new listings. All payments are handled via PayPal, and PayPal’s IPN system is used to validate each submission.
Paid Featured Listings
In addition to charging for standard submissions, eList allows you to charge an additional fee to featured a user’s listing on the homepage and category page. This is a VERY cool feature and one that continues to set Elegant Themes apart from all other premium theme providers (for the price they charge in relation to such advanced functionality).
With eList you can place 125×125 banner images in your sidebar and 468×60 ads to your post pages with ease. Advertisements are handled from within wp-admin, and can be turned on and off at any time.
